The function of waterproof solar connector is actually quite similar to that of mobile phone charging heads:
The charging head is responsible for safely transmitting the electricity from the socket, to the mobile phone through the data cable, while the connector is responsible for safely transmitting the electricity from devices such as inverters to other devices through cables.
Just as a charging head serves as a bridge between a mobile phone and a power source, a photovoltaic connector acts as a bridge between solar energy devices and electrical equipment. It’s just that it has to handle more electricity and withstand sun exposure and rain, so it is designed to be more sturdy and durable.
The inner core of the YRO solar system connector is made of copper plated with a layer of tin. Copper has excellent electrical conductivity. The tin layer improves its performance by sealing the tiny defects on the copper surface. This design minimizes power waste when current flows through and also provides better anti-rust protection.
The shell is made of PPO engineering plastic, which is a material with strong flame retardancy and meets the UL94 V-0 flame retardant grade. That is to say, it is not easy to burn even when exposed to a fire source, increasing the safety of the overall system. Moreover, this connector has passed the CE certification, and can be used with confidence in markets with high safety standards such as Europe.
1、IP68 protection level:IP68 is one of the highest ratings in the international Ingress Protection (IP) certification system, specifically used to measure the defense capability of electronic devices or components, against solid foreign objects (such as dust) and liquids (such as water). Its core concept is “completely dust-proof + deeply waterproof”.
The IP code consists of two digits:
The first digit (dust prevention level) : Range 0-6. The larger the number, the stronger the dust prevention ability.
The second digit (water resistance grade) : Range 0-9. The larger the number, the stronger the water resistance.
The connectors manufactured by YRO have a protection level of IP68, indicating excellent water and dust resistance. They are not only suitable for indoor use but can also be safely used outdoors.
